Airlines and Travelers Woes

The airlines are still having issues because many people just can’t afford to travel. It is definitely a luxury and one of those things that many are willing to do without. I know it’s been years since we’ve been able to pack up and go despite really enjoying traveling. One of the problems is finding a reasonable fair at the time that we all would actually be available without planning far in advance. Now on top of the already unfriendly rates airlines are adding things to the price that I would not have imagined would be our burden. The bag fees, the seat fees, the fees for refreshments, not to mention the possible bathroom fees? What is going on? Are we going to have to hang onto the handrails? Poor heavy people now have the risk of getting the boot from the plane to top it off. I definitely can’t travel when I’m pregnant, I’d be forced to buy a whole row. Yeah it sounds funny but sadly I’m not kidding.

What is the compromise? Our traveling helps the airlines but we can’t travel because of the cost. All the additional fees are certainly not providing an incentive to book that ticket but without increased revenues the airlines might not make it. It’s truly one of those cases where you are stuck between a rock and a hard place and the sad thing is no one’s going to win.
